WhatsApp auto-reply for freelancers

Client work doesn’t stop for your inbox. auto-reply.to answers the enquiries you whitelist in your tone, holds the thread while you’re heads-down, and flags the conversations worth your attention.

What usually goes wrong

  • Enquiries arrive while you’re mid-project, and a slow reply loses the job.
  • You answer the same five questions — rate, timeline, process, revisions, deposit — every week.
  • Old client threads go cold simply because nobody followed up.

How to set it up

  1. 1

Load your rate card as stock answers

Put your day rate, typical timeline, and deposit terms in the knowledge base. The assistant quotes them verbatim instead of improvising numbers.

  2. 2

    Whitelist enquiry threads only

Turn the AI on for new client chats and leave everything personal untouched. Nothing is auto-replied unless you switched that exact chat on.

  3. 3

Let it defer on anything unpriced

Custom scope, unusual deadlines, anything not in your knowledge base — it says it’ll check and come back rather than guessing.

  4. 4

Run a campaign over dormant clients

Describe your current offer and let a campaign grade past client chats hot, warm, or cold, with an opener drafted in your voice.

What a reply looks like

hey, are you free for a landing page in the next two weeks?

I’m booked through next week but could start the week after. Landing pages are usually a 5-day build — want me to send the scope and rate?

Illustrative example. Your assistant answers from the persona and stock answers you write.

Questions this raises

Do I need a WhatsApp Business account or the Cloud API?

No. auto-reply.to works with your regular personal WhatsApp by linking the same way WhatsApp Web does — scan a QR and you’re in. No Business account, no Meta Cloud API, no Twilio, no developer setup of any kind. If you already have a Business account that’s fine too; auto-reply.to simply doesn’t require one.

Does auto-reply.to read all my messages?

No. auto-reply.to only fetches messages from chats you explicitly toggle on in the dashboard. Everything else in WhatsApp is invisible to us.

What are Campaigns?

Campaigns scan WhatsApp chats you already have and grade each contact hot, warm, or cold against an offer you describe. We draft openers in your voice — we never invent leads or scrape strangers.
